Jo Torrelli Thomas Endowed Scholarship

The Jo Torrelli Thomas Endowed Scholarship was created in 2018 through the estate of alumna Mary Josephine Thomas to provide financial support to any student at ArtCenter demonstrating financial need and academic merit.

Mary Josephine Thomas, a.k.a Jo Torrelli Thomas is an alumnus of ArtCenter’s Illustration program and also attended Cornish Art Institute in Seattle. Jo became well-known as a portrait artist, exhibited frequently throughout Los Angeles and worked extensively in advertising and fashion illustration. ArtCenter was delighted to receive this very special gift from her estate to establish a scholarship in support of our students. We are grateful to Jo for remembering ArtCenter, where her legacy as a dedicated artist and caring individual will impact our students in perpetuity through her scholarship gift.
