Margaret Browne Reese Endowed Scholarship and Kelsey Browne Hall Endowed Scholarship

The Margaret Browne Reese Endowed Scholarship established in 2010 and the Kelsey Browne Hall Endowed Scholarship established in 2020 are awarded together in support of an undergraduate student in ArtCenter’s Fine Art program who has an interest in sculpture and who demonstrates both financial need and academic merit. These scholarships symbolize the generous philanthropic tradition of the Bradford Hall, Jr. Family.

The Margaret Browne Reese Endowed Scholarship was established by Kelsey Hall in 1999 in memory of her aunt, Margaret Browne Reese. Kelsey Hall was a life-long friend of Alyce Williamson, founder of ArtCenter100, and as a result an original member of ArtCenter100. She was born in Oklahoma City, OK in 1933 and passed away in 2019. Together with her husband and three sons, Brad, Bill and Jim, she moved to San Marino, CA, in 1964. Kelsey had a spirit for adventure and traveled extensively throughout her life. She traveled with groups from the Huntington Library, Cal Tech and Stanford. She visited five continents and over 30 countries. She was deeply involved in many community organizations. She served as president of the Doheny Eye Institute’s Luminaires, Pasadena Guild of Children’s Hospital and Junior League of Pasadena. Members often commented on her hard work, enthusiasm and sense of humor. She was involved in ArtCenter College of Design and was a member of the ArtCenter100. Kelsey spent 50 years involved with the Huntington Library serving as a docent, and a member of the Society of Fellows, and the Buying and Women’s Committees. She was a member of the Associates of Cal Tech, the Valley Hunt Club, and the Town Club, where she served as president.

Bradford Hall, Jr. continued in his mother’s philanthropic footsteps when he established the Kelsey Browne Hall Endowed Scholarship in her name in 2020.
