Ray and Lynda Engle Endowed Scholarship
The Ray and Lynda Engle Endowed Scholarship was established by Ray and Lynda Engle in 2014 to provide support to Environmental Design (now Spatial Experience Design) students who demonstrate financial need.
Ray Engle graduated with a BFA from ArtCenter in 1959 and an MA from UCLA in 1973. He went on to become a beloved ArtCenter faculty member from 1960-1987. He worked as a designer at Porter & Goodman, Los Angeles, 1959-1960; as a consultant, McCann-Erickson, Inc., Los Angeles, 1960-1963. He was President, Ray Engle & Associations, Los Angeles, since 1963, a member of the advisory board at Noland Paper Company, Los Angeles, 1963-1965, and of Los Angeles Trade Technology College, since 1975.
He served as President of the Art Center Alumni (1963-1964), American Institute Graphic Arts, Graphic Arts Guild, Flings (board directors 1965-1967), Los Angeles Advertising Club (recipient Belding award 1968), Public Relations Society of America (recipient Prism award 1987). He was a member of the American Institute Graphic Arts, Graphic Arts Guild, Flings (board directors 1965-1967), Los Angeles Advertising Club (recipient Belding award 1968), Public Relations Society of America (recipient Prism award 1987) and the Del Rey Yacht Club. As a graphic designer he was the recipient of the Design Award International Center Typographic Arts, Italy, 1965
